It’s a night for bluegrass and the banjo on WOSU TV this Friday night starting at 9 pm with the PBS Arts special hosted by Steve Martin on the history of the Banjo and followed at 11pm  with Tony Ellis’s Quest.  Our WOSU documentary crew led by Brent Davis travels to Circleville, Ohio to profile banjo player Tony Ellis, who has performed around the world is an Ohio Heritage Fellow. Learn how Ellis, who was steeped in bluegrass, has written simple, memorable melodies for the banjo inspired by the Ohio countryside he loves. This program was supported by a grant from the Ohio Arts Council.  Host: Rich Baker of The Bluegrass Ramble fame.
