Three bills have already been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives to cut or eliminate federal funding for public broadcasting. Their introduction highlights the very real threat to public broadcasting funding. There are currently no companion bills in the Senate and no current action scheduled on these bills, but we will keep you updated on any movement related to these legislative proposals.

Should these bills begin to move forward, the voices of all 170 Million Americans for Public Broadcasting will be needed to tell Congress to oppose efforts to cut or eliminate public broadcasting. This would have a devastating impact on all public TV and radio stations across America. WE NEED YOUR HELP.

You can start by just signing up to learn more at the 170 Million Americans website — that is how many Americans regularly listen, watch and use our resources.

The website will help you review the facts, understand the issues and then send your thoughts to our local congressional representatives — Steve Stivers, Pat Tiberi, and Bob Gibbs.
