Connor Grubb is charged with murder in the deadly August 2023 shooting of pregnant 21-year-old mother Ta'Kiya Young.

The murder trial for Blendon Township Police Officer Connor Grubb is set to begin on July 14, 2025.

Franklin County Court of Common Please Judge David Young set the date on Tuesday.

Grubb is accused of murdering 21-year-old Ta'Kiya Young and her unborn child at a Kroger last year. Grubb is charged with four counts of murder, four counts of felonious assault and two counts of involuntary manslaughter.

Ta'Kiya Young was accused of shoplifting from the Kroger located on South Sunbury Road, when nearby officers were alerted to the alleged theft by a Kroger employee and immediately approached Young's vehicle. The family said she was expecting to give birth to a baby girl in November of 2023.

Grubb stood in front of her vehicle and shot Young within 30 seconds of approaching the vehicle. Young began turning her steering wheel away from the two officers before she accelerated, but as she pulled forward her car started pushing against the officer before he shot her.

The case is being prosecuted by a group of Montgomery County prosecutors, including Erin Claypoole and Daniel Brandt. Grubb is being represented in court by defense attorneys Kaitlyn Stephens and Mark Collins.

Grubb is currently on paid leave from the Blendon Township Police Department.
