Police say a juvenile victim was stabbed and taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital for treatment.

Columbus police said that a 13-year-old boy has been arrested for the stabbing that injured another juvenile this morning on Columbus' Far West Side.

A letter from Hilliard City Schools to parents said a student stabbed another student at a Hilliard schools bus stop in the Crosscreek subdivision.

Columbus Police spokeswoman Jennifer Watson said the victim was a Hilliard schools student. She said she didn't know if the suspect was.

The schools closed four elementary schools for the day after the stabbing.

The district closed J.W. Reason, Beacon, Scioto Darby and Hilliard Crossing Elementary Schools, according to district spokeswoman Stacie Raterman.

She said staff is taking care of students who were already dropped off until parents can pick them up.

The school district closed the schools as a precaution after a juvenile was stabbed near Springdale Boulevard and Bathgate Street on the Far West Side. Columbus police were called just after 7:15 a.m.

A police dispatcher said the juvenile was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital and the victim was listed as stable.

The school district also placed Hilliard Darby High School, Heritage Middle School, the Hilliard Station sixth grade building, the ILC and the Hub in a Level One lockdown.

The district said parents of students in those schools can pick them up.
