Gahanna police said they are now investigating a shooting that happened Thursday evening on I-270 North as a "road rage" incident, but have no identified any suspects.

Police said just before 6:30 p.m., a suspect inside one vehicle shot at the occupants of another vehicle between Hamilton Road and Broad Street on the interstate.

When officers responded, they found a 25-year-old man, who was the driver of the car that was shot at, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. A second person, who police say was a passenger inside the vehicle, was also injured by gunfire.

Officers provided medical aid to both victims until Mifflin Township first responders arrived on scene and took them to a local hospital.

The two victims are described as stable.

Gahanna police spokesperson Dan Pearlman said police are still investigating the incident, but believe it was caused by road rage. Authorities believe the incident started in Columbus.

Police have no suspects and the shooter fled the scene before officers arrived. Officials believe the shooting was an isolated incident.
