Franklin County public defender Stephen Chinn was arrested on two charges for allegedly owning child pornography.

Grandview Heights police arrested and charged Franklin County Public Defender Stephen Chinn on Wednesday with two felony counts for allegedly owning and distributing child pornography.

The police conducted a search warrant and arrested Chinn, 39, after receiving a tip on Wednesday morning. A Facebook post from the city of Grandview Heights said the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force found electronic evidence when conducting the search at the scene depicting underage girls engaged in sexual acts.

The investigators also found other files believed to be illegal images and videos of underage girls in a state of nudity or being sexually abused.

The post also said at this time there is no reason to believe the suspect had direct contact with any juveniles depicted in these images. The post says additional criminal charges are pending following the investigation.

Chinn is being held at the Franklin County Correction Center without bond. An arraignment is set for Thursday.
