It's Election Day, and Ohio is voting on a vast number of Statehouse races, two Ohio Supreme Court seats and a number of local ballot measures.

WOSU is bringing you comprehensive coverage of the 2020 election, in Ohio and around the country. Find the rest of our coverage below:

This fall, the entire Ohio House and half of the Ohio Senate are up for grabs. Currently, Republicans hold veto-proof supermajorities in both chambers, after winning almost every statewide office and expanding their margins in the 2018 midterms.

While Democrats hope they can pick off a few seats, especially in the suburbs, it's unlikely they'll be able make more than a dent in the GOP's control of the legislature.

The races that were most promising for Democrats were for the Ohio Supreme Court, which is currently weighted 5-2 in favor of Republicans.

Democrat Jennifer Brunner has ousted Republican Judith French, according to the Associated Press. In the other race, GOP Justice Sharon Kennedy defeated the Democratic challenger John P. O'Donnell.

This means Republican's majority on the court will be reduced to 4-3.

Under Ohio law, judges do not appear with partisan labels on general election ballots – even if they ran in partisan primaries – so voters chose off name only.
