JPMorgan Chase employees were supposed to return to Central Ohio offices starting Monday, but the company has put that plan on pause.
About 18,000 JPMorgan workers are based in the Columbus area, and the company planned to bring half of them back to local offices between now and Labor Day.
That move is on hold due to the city and state's spike in COVID-19 cases, a spokeswoman confirms.
Columbus has recorded more than 100 new coronavirus cases per day, and Franklin County now has the most cases of any county in the state. Gov. Mike DeWine recently instituted a mask mandate for a dozen counties, including Franklin, due to the rise in cases.
