Columbus Public Health says there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 in a person who showed symptoms last Thursday, May 27, but still attended protests in downtown Columbus.
The department is urging anyone who attended the protests that day to monitor for symptoms and get a free test if they develop. The health department is advising people to call 614-645-1519 to obtain a list of testing locations.
In a tweet Wednesday, the health department also advised protesters to wear face coverings.

The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention currently lists the following symptoms of COVID-19 that may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
