Central Ohio Transit Authority opens its new Customer Experience Center in downtown Columbus on Wednesday.

COTA officials say the new office, which sits inside their downtown headquarters at 33 North High Street, represents "the next generation of customer service for Central Ohio's diverse transit community." The center lets riders purchase tickets at kiosks or in-person, plan trips, and learn more about COTA.

A grand opening ceremony is planned Wednesady morning.

It’s the latest effort by COTA to be more customer-oriented, following the launch of a mobile payment app and the start of some micro-transit projects around Central Ohio.

The customer experience center cost about $2.3 million and included some renovations to the outside of the headquarters, including new ramps, doors and windows.
