Two branches of the Columbus Metropolitan Library closed over the weekend and won't reopen for about a month.
The Franklinton and Livingston branches will undergo repairs and will also get a new ready-for-kindergarten space.
"Preschoolers and their parents and caregivers can get familiarized with what a kindergarten classroom is like," says CML spokesman Ben Zenitsky.
Library officials encourage patrons to use nearby locations like Whitehall or Hilltop while renovations are ongoing.
"These locations are each nearby other locations, other library locations so we're pretty confident in our library patrons being able to have access to library services," Zenitsky says.
The upgrades will cost a total of $1.2 million.
"Work will include building repair, landscaping, new ceiling tiles, new carpeting, plumbing repair, insulation replacement," he said.
