Columbus Police say two teenagers were shot in an incident near Lockbourne Road Tuesday night.Police say officers responding to the area of Smith Road and Ellworth Avenue around 10 p.m. on a report of a shooting found a 14-year-old boy suffering from several gunshot wounds lying on a sidewalk.
Police say officers soon found a second victim, a 16-year-old boy, who had been shot in the stomach. Police did not immediately disclose the condition of either boy.
No arrests or suspects were immediately reported.
The Tuesday shooting follows other recent shootings involving young victims. On June 6, Shamya Saultz, 15, died and a 14-year-old boy suffered serious injuries when police say someone entered a Welch Avenue apartment and opened fire.
That came about two weeks after Jaykwon Sharp, 14, was killed in a shooting on Columbus’ East Side. A 14-year-old girl was also injured in that shooting.
