White Castle plans to spend $65 million to transform its home office in Columbus. The project includes adding some workers.
White Castle, the fast-food hamburger chain based in Columbus wants to replace its headquarters on West Goodale Street, creating a mixed-use campus with apartments, and a community center available for non-profit groups. A second office building would include 100,000 square feet for future businesses.
Officials say the expansion would include more jobs in its home office where 220 employees now work, although it’s not clear how many jobs would be added.
The company says the project is contingent on final approval of incentives by JobsOhio, the state’s privatized, economic-development agency funded by liquor taxes. No word on what those incentives include.
