A platoon of Marines will escort John Glenn's casket from Ohio's capital building to his memorial service at Ohio State University, an Ohio board decided.
On Friday, Glenn will lie in repose in the Ohio Statehouse Rotunda during an eight-hour public event, from noon until 8 p.m.
The processional will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board called an emergency meeting Monday to iron out the final arrangements, which were approved unanimously.
The panel further agreed to extend Glenn's repose overnight to allow for the processional on Saturday. House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger said that means the doors to the Statehouse may remain open later.
Glenn was a native of Ohio and the first American to orbit the Earth. He died Thursday at the age of 95.
