The second-longest serving city attorney in Columbus history, Rick Pfeiffer, says he will not seek another term.
“When the octane level in your tank starts to decline, then it’s time to move on,” Pfeiffer said on Thursday.
Pfeiffer was appointed by Columbus City Council to the position of City Attorney in 2003, and he’s won every election since. He’s known as a tireless worker who Mayor Ginther said has done much to revitalize Columbus neighborhoods.
That work ethic? Pfeifer says it’s in his genes.
“Just being attentive to what’s going on out in the public and wanting to be a part of that decision-making process and trying to figure out ‘Do you have something that you can contribute for the betterment?’”
Pfeiffer ran unopposed in the last three elections. He says he would support current Columbus City Council President Zach Kline to replace him, if Klein should decide to run.
