Ramp Closures, New Light Bring Headaches For Northwest Side Commuters

Ohio Department of Transportation
A new flyover ramp from U.S. 33 east to 270 north will replace the older cloverleaf ramp, where traffic built up during heavy drive times. The closure will be a big headache for drivers until the new ramp opens in mid October.

It's a slow commute in the Dublin area as some big freeway changes bog down traffic for the first time.

Starting Monday morning, drivers coming into the city from Plain City and Marysville on U.S. 33 have to turn left across traffic to get onto Interstate 270 north at a new traffic signal. The light is a temporary fix as crews build a new flyover-style ramp to replace the old cloverleaf ramp.

The new ramp is expected to open October 14.

The ramp from I-270 south to 33 west is also closed for the same time period. Drivers on 270 south can continue south to Tuttle Crossing Boulevard and turn around. That's expected to cause big delays there until crews open the new ramp onto 33 west.
