More than a hundred people gathered at a vigil last night for 13-year-old Tyre King who was fatally shot by Columbus police Wednesday evening.
About a block away from the site where King was fatally shot, students, activists, community members and members of King's family gathered to grieve.
King's former coach Michael Bell from the Columbus Day Star youth association, brought the entire team, He said breaking the news to the boys was hard.
"I put them together earlier and we talked and I asked them if that had any questions," Bell said. "I wanted to see where they were. I talked about life I talked about decision making, I talked about Tyre."
Bell said Tyre was a small kid, just over five feet tall and never got into trouble. He was shocked to learn about the shooting, and like everyone at the vigil that night he's eager for more details about what exactly happened.
