Columbus Police say two men have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a landlord and a fire meant to cover up the killing.
Columbus police say Maurice Watkins and Pierre Williams were taken into custody Thursday night, shortly after the body of 50-year-old Joseph Remlinger was found in a burning garage on Lilley Avenue.
Investigators say Watkins lived in a Grasmere Avenue house owned by Remlinger. They say the man shot Remlinger while he was collecting the rent.
Police say Williams helped set the fire to cover up the shooting.
