The mayor of Obetz, a village south of Columbus, has been charged in a domestic violence altercation that happened over the Memorial Day weekend.
Franklin County Court records show Obetz Mayor David "Greg" Scott is charged with domestic violence and assault. Both charges are first degree misdemeanors.
Groveport Police said officers were called to a local funeral home Friday night for a domestic dispute.
According to witnesses and other statements, Scott allegedly knocked his ex-wife to the ground during an argument. Groveport Police Chief Ralph Portier said the woman sustained “minor injuries.”
Portier said Scott refused to give a statement to police and was taken to the hospital after complaining of chest pains.
A court official said Scott's arraignment will be set after he's released from the hospital.
