"Dental Hygiene Hoodlum" Wanted In Central Ohio After Store Thefts

Franklin County Jail

A Central Ohio man who appears to be obsessed with teeth whitening kits has been named "Fugitive of the Week" by city officials.

He's called the 'Dental Hygiene Hoodlum." Authorities say the thief targets Crest White Strips.  Columbus City Attorney Richard Pfeiffer says the suspect is 46 year old Sean Patrick Burk.  He's accused of stealing dozens of boxes of the popular teeth whitening kits in Polaris, Grove City, and Easton stores valued at more than $2500.  Pfeiffer says Burk focuses only on Crest products.  Officials say the suspect more than likely doesn't use the product for his own teeth, but sells them on the black market to feed a drug habit.
Burk has a criminal record including various drug charges.
