Body Pulled From Scioto River Near Downtown

Kayakers in the river found the man face down in the water around 7 p.m. on Monday in Columbus.

Authorities are working to identify the body of a man who was found in the Scioto River in downtown Columbus.

Kayakers in the river found the man face down in the water around 7 p.m. on Monday in Columbus. Police say the body hadn't been in the river for long.

Authorities didn't immediately identify the man. They say he's between 40 and 60 years old.

It's unclear how the man died.

Police say an autopsy will determine the man's cause of death.
