The Ohio Secretary of State's office reports 41 percent of Ohio voters turned out for yesterday's primary election, that’s more than 3 million people.
It was the second highest turnout in a primary. The Secretary of State's office says yesterday's turnout was second only to 2008 when 46 percent of the electorate turned out.
The office says County Boards of Election report there are 41,908 outstanding absentee ballots.
Boards will continue to process all eligible ballots postmarked March 14 or earlier until the tenth day after the election.
