Columbus Police: Teenage Boy Fatally Shot, Suspect Arrested

Police say a 17-year-old boy has died after he was shot at a house in central Ohio and a suspect is in custody.

A statement from Columbus police says Jordan T. Moore was shot around 1 a.m. Wednesday and died a short time later at a hospital.

Police say they have arrested 19-year-old Malik Whatley in the shooting. The police statement says the Columbus man was arrested on a charge of murder in Moore's death.

Court records don't list an attorney for Whatley. He is scheduled to be arraigned at a hearing on Thursday.

Moore is the second 17-year-old boy fatally shot in Columbus this week. The other teen was shot Monday at a Columbus house and died later that day.

Police are continuing to investigate that shooting.
