The personnel file of the man who killed himself at The Wexner Center for the Arts, last Sunday, shows troubling behavior.
Former Ohio State security guard Dean Sturgis was assigned to work at the Wexner Arts Center when he was hired, in 2003. Employee records reveal he received compliments from guests of the arts center, but he had poor relationships with some co-workers.
An April 2009 letter called for a hearing about his employment status. The letter cites inappropriate conduct dating back to 2005, including a 2007 one-day suspension for threatening a co-worker and confrontations with his supervisor.
The university decided to fire Sturgis. He resigned instead.
The arts center re-opened Wednesday. The After Picasso exhibit was permanently closed after it was damaged by Sturgis before he took his own life.
