Ohio's elections chief has expressed interest in being governor.
Republican Secretary of State Jon Husted was asked by the moderator at a forum whether he wanted to be the state's leader. Husted responded: "Someday I would, yeah."
Husted spoke about the fall election and other topics at the forum in Columbus Wednesday.
He later told reporters that he was focused on administering the 2015 and 2016 elections. After next year's contests, he said, if he was going to make a public announcement, he would make it then.
Husted was re-elected to his post last year and could not seek the job again. He told reporters he does plan to pursue some elected office after his term ends in 2018.
