A grand jury has formally indicted a man in the murders of four people in South Linden.
Robert Lee Adams could be sentenced to death if he is convicted of a South Linden quadruple murder.
A Franklin County Grand Jury returned a 29 count death penalty indictment.
Adams, who is 27 years old, allegedly shot five victims on East Hudson Street, in June, killing four of them.
“The effort was an attempted robbery of the drugs and, or money they believed to be there. And it’s alleged they herded the people into the basement and they were executed," said Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien.
Adams is charged on multiple counts including multiple aggravated murder counts, robbery and kidnapping.
Adams was arrested, earlier this month, in Mississippi. He is set to be arraigned Monday, though his trial likely would not start until next spring or summer, according to O'Brien.
Adams' alleged accomplice, 16-year-old Jordyn Wade, who also has been charged in the case, is expected to be bound over to adult court this fall.
