Authorities in southern Ohio are assessing damage to homes and roads in the aftermath of flooding that swept away a mobile home, killing a woman and two of her children.

Brown County emergency management director Beth Nevel says workers will spend Monday evaluating infrastructure and home issues left by flooding. She says three roads are closed.

Authorities said earlier that rushing water caused pavement to buckle on a road in Ripley, a village of some 2,000 people about an hour's drive southeast from Cincinnati. A torrential downpour flooded a creek late Saturday.

Authorities said Sunday that a family huddled inside the mobile home, but the mother, her daughter and a son were killed. The father and two sons were rescued. Authorities say one boy was found in a tree.
