U.S. Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert McDonald is continuing his visits to VA medical facilities across the country with a stop in Ohio’s capital.
McDonald was expected Tuesday to meet with veterans and employees at the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center in Columbus.
He has been touring VA facilities while working to make changes to the agency plagued by long veterans’ waits for health care and other problems. He has pledged to transform the agency and says it’s committed to winning back veterans’ trust.
The former Army ranger and longtime executive of Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble Co. toured the Cincinnati VA Medical Center last year, not long after taking over as VA secretary. He visited the Dayton VA Medical Center in March.
