Unemployment Rate Edges Up As Employers Shed 20,000 Jobs

Ohio's unemployment rate rose just slightly in March. The Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services said Friday that the rate for March was 7.1 percent - up from 7 percent in February, which was unchanged from the month before. The state's leaders have said Ohio's economy and its job market are getting stronger, though the process is slow. Ohio's unemployment rate has remained about one percentage point below the national rate.
