Police Say Woman Drives Into Crowd In Lima, Injures Dozens

LIMA, Ohio (AP) - Authorities in northwest Ohio say a woman suddenly drove her car into a crowded town square, injuring 20 to 25 people, some of whom were pinned under the car and freed when bystanders lifted it. The Lima News reports the woman drove her sedan into the crowd Friday night in Lima, about 80 miles south of Toledo. People in the square had been attending a weekly community event featuring a live band. Witnesses say the car appeared to be stopped, then driven into the square. The newspaper reports people picked up the car to free those trapped. No one was killed. Police say some victims suffered serious injuries to legs, heads and necks. At least five were taken to hospitals, and two are in serious but stable condition. Police are still investigating.
