An Ohio State researcher testified before Congress this week about the need for additional funding for the National Institutes of Health. NIH is the major source of grants for biomedical research.
Associate Professor Jill Rafael-Fortney's research looks at the role of a protein in cases of heart failure. She says she is waiting in line with many other researchers to gain funding to continue her research.
Rafael-Fortney testified March 11th before the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions Committee which is chaired by Sen. Edward Kennedy.
