Gun Owners Want More Legal Protection

Committee hearings are underway in the Ohio House and Senate on measures to change the self defense burden of proof in cases of home invasion.

Under current Ohio law, a homeowner who shoots someone who has broken into their house might have to prove they did so based on concern for their own or their family's well-being. Otherwise, they face the possibility of criminal or civil charges.
