Investigators: Shooter at ground level in 19th case

Investigators say the person responsible for the latest Interstate 270 shooting was probably at ground level when the shots were fired.

Franklin County Chief Deputy Steve Martin says investigators came to that conclusion after conducting trajectory tests on the car that was shot Sunday.

It's 19th in a series of shootings in Columbus that investigators believe are connected.

A man was traveling eastbound on I-270 at 2:15am when a bullet skipped off the hood of his car and through the windshield.

Martin says the shooter's vehicle may have been parked on the overpass, with the shooter walking down to the roadway to take the shot.

The shooter may also have parked underneath the overpass, or could have been moving in the eastbound lanes.

Investigators say they're keeping all possibilities open.
