COLUMBUS, OHIO, APRIL 23, 2013 – AEP, Fahlgren Mortine, Nationwide Insurance and WOSU Public Media compete on the “In the Know Celebrity Challenge,” a special 30th anniversary edition of the popular quiz show broadcast on WOSU TV.

These captains of industry go head-to-head for local bragging rights and to raise money for children’s educational programming on WOSU TV. Celebrity cameos featured in the program include Gene Smith, Athletic Director for The Ohio State University; Jeni Britton Bauer, Founder of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams; and Jack Hanna, Director Emeritus of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. “In the Know Celebrity Challenge” will air on WOSU TV Sunday, April 28 at 7 p.m.

The regular version of the quiz show “In the Know” is hosted by Bill Schiffman and challenges the best and the brightest from high schools throughout central and southern Ohio. The “Celebrity Challenge” was developed to recognize the 30-year milestone of this program both its broadcast run on WOSU TV and having Schiffman as host.

For the past 30 years, students have been answering challenging and thought-provoking questions on topics ranging from science to history to visual arts. The Ohio State University awards scholarships to the top four high school teams at the end of the season and Westfield Insurance offers grants to the top eight teams. Since it started broadcasting on WOSU TV, “In the Know” has provided over $500,000 in college scholarship money.
