COLUMBUS, OHIO, DECEMBER 4, 2014 – The highly acclaimed PBS MASTERPIECE drama, ‘Downton Abbey’, returns for another season of love, loss and intrigue this January. And WOSU Public Media will celebrate this broadcast premiere with a roaring twenties speakeasy inspired by ‘Downton Abbey’ Season Five.

On Saturday, January 3 at The Galbreath Pavilion in the Ohio Theatre, the public is invited to dress in their 1920s finery and enjoy cocktails and jazz music just like an American escaping Prohibition with a jaunt to England. A special advance screening of Episode One from the eagerly anticipated ‘Downton Abbey’ Season Five will follow the cocktail reception and silent auction.

Guests may arrive at 5:30 p.m. for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and the free premiere screening begins at 8 p.m. Space is limited; for tickets and to RSVP for the event, please go towosu.org/downtonabbey. Support of this event helps WOSU TV continue to provide popular PBS programming like ‘Downton Abbey’ to central Ohio.

‘Downton Abbey’ Season Five premieres January 4 at 9 p.m. on WOSU TV. WOSU TV is a PBS member station (simulcast on WPBO TV in Portsmouth) and features well-known children’s, public affairs, science, and nature programs, as well as locally produced shows such as ‘Broad & High’, ‘Columbus on the Record’ and ‘In the Know’.
