"Free for All: The Public Library" Documentary Screening/Indie Lens Pop-Up

Indie Lens Pop-Up, presented by ITVS, INDEPENDENT LENS, and WOSU Public Media in partnership with Columbus Metropolitan Library will host an advanced* screening of “Free for All: The Public Library” on Wednesday January 29, 2025 beginning at 6:00 PM.

This documentary tells the story of the quiet revolutionaries who created a civic institution where everything is free and the doors are open to all.

Free for All: The Public Library” chronicles the evolution of the nation’s public libraries, tracing the battles over who can enter, what belongs there, and who makes these decisions, while exploring how public commons are defined and defended.

Please join us for the film (run time 60 mins) , followed by a panel discussion from Columbus Metropolitan Library Staff members who will speak about the vital impact of their organization on the Columbus community.
