Columbus City Schools has adopted the new quarantine guidelines for students and staff issued this week by the Ohio Department of Health.
Under the “Mask To Stay” policy, students can stay in the classroom after a COVID-19 contact in a school setting or other school-related environment, as long as they wear a mask, get tested, and show no symptoms.
The “Test to Play” policy allows those in extracurricular activities to continue to participate following exposure as long as they wear a mask when able, get an immediate COVID test and test again within 5 to 7 days of contact.
Universal mask-wearing will still be required.
Those in quarantine currently without symptoms will be allowed to return on Friday. CCS officials said anyone who has COVID-19 exposure outside of any school setting will still be required to quarantine if unvaccinated.
