Kroger is launching its own million dollar giveaway program to encourage vaccinations.
Like Ohio’s Vax-A-Million sweepstakes, and similar incentive programs in New York, Maryland, California and West Virginia, Kroger plans to give away cash to a handful of people who get vaccinated at the store.
The grocer plans to release full details next week, but five people will win $1 million each and 50 more will win free groceries for a year.
In a press release Kroger officials describe the “community immunity” effort as a collaboration with the Biden administration aiming to get 70% of the U.S. population vaccinated by July 10.
Meanwhile, CVS pharmacy has announced a sweepstakes of its own with prizes including cash, vacations and cruises.
