WOSU Classroom offers classes for educators wishing to extend their knowledge and experience with technology integration. These classes are suitable for educators of all grade levels and subject areas. Contact hours are awarded for each class at no additional fee; graduate credit is offered, as well. Contact hours are equal to the run-time of the class, minus 30 minutes for lunch (if the class is from 10 am to 3:30 pm, with 30 minutes for lunch, then the class is worth 5 contact hours).

Online registration closes two weeks prior to the start of class; please call to register after that time (614-470-4488).  Basic membership is available to all educators at no charge.

Cancellations received two weeks prior to the class start date are eligible for a full refund less a $25 processing fee

All face-to-face courses will be held at the WOSU Classroom satellite offices [Map], unless otherwise specified.
Online courses are available as well.

Did you know that it is possible to visit museums, explore oceans and travel to distant lands without leaving the classroom? Virtual Reality (VR) provides many educational opportunities to immerse students in their education and create experiences that bring meaning to the content they are studying. In this class, we’ll use the View-Master VR to explore national museums and distant lands, discuss strategies for creating VR field trips, and leave with the knowledge and understanding to create your own VR content. Participants will receive a View-Master VR Kit to keep!

 

The Makey Makey Invention Literacy Workshop for Educators*

The Makey Makey Invention Literacy Workshop for Educators is a fun hands-on learning experience where you’ll learn how to teach Invention Literacy, Making, and Design Thinking using the award-winning Makey Makey invention kit. We’ll explore how to teach circuits and conductivity using Makey Makeys and then put our skills to use designing your own inventions! Participants learn best practices and gain access to a multimedia training website that can be used later when working with your students or training others.
