I want to be Hector Garcia when I grow up.
Garcia is a husband, dad, attorney, musician, artist and mentor. He gives a lot of support to young artists with the Chamber Music Connection.
At Highlands Presbyterian Church on Smoky Row, Hector has been a concert producer and performer.
He was set to perform in our Music in Mid-Ohio series where Classical 101 showcases concert performances from the local community. With all live concerts currently canceled due to coronavirus safety precautions, we're taking the series online by highlighting past performances of the artists whose local appearances are currently on hold or canceled altogether.
Here's Hector Garcia's recent collaboration with the Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Luis Biava (there’s another polymath) on December 2, 2018..
This is Haydn’s Piano Concerto No. 11, published in 1784. It was originally written for harpsichord or fortepiano -- but today’s concert pianos are a joy, particularly in Haydn’s finale alla ungarese.
Enjoy!
