Wellness Wednesday: Theme Park Injuries, HPV, Nettles for Health

11:00

Summer is almost here, and that means trips to the beach, to theme parks, and...to the hospital. Over 20 kids a day go straight from the amusement park to the emergency room, and an injuries specialist will tell us why. Then, new research shows that the threat of an STD scares young women more than the threat of cancer. We'll find out what that means for the fight against HPV. Last, we'll hear about the hurts-so-good power of stinging nettles.  Guests

  • Gary Smith, director of the Center for Injury Research and Policy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital
  • Janice Raup-Krieger, Assistant Professor of Communication, Ohio State
  • Rebecca B. Perkins, Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Boston University Medical Center
  • Jonathan Swartzberg, Chair, Editorial Board, UC Berkeley Wellness Letter
