COLUMBUS, OHIO, June 15, 2017 — WOSU Public Media and COSI have opened the “WOSU Gallery,” a new exhibit space at COSI focused on learning and interactive engagement for children and their families.

The WOSU Gallery, on the second floor of COSI, integrates PBS KIDS® characters into its displays, and was unveiled at a celebration event for the launch of WOSU Kids, WOSU’s new TV channel of PBS KIDS programming. The exhibit features elements like “U-TV” a green-screen exhibit where children can imagine themselves on TV; “Wired Voices” that alters the voice like being in a radio booth; a praxinoscope that shows the fundamentals of animation; and a kaleidoscope display that projects changing colored patterns on the wall.

“We’ve had an incredibly strong partnership with COSI for over a decade that is unique in the country,” said WOSU General Manager Tom Rieland. “Both our staffs worked closely to attain assets from the license holders of PBS KIDS properties and develop compelling exhibits that integrate elements of math, science and media. It’s a huge win for the community.”

“We are proud of this incredible lasting relationship that has been sustained with WOSU,” said Dr. Frederic Bertley, COSI President and CEO. “The new exhibits appeal to a broad audience and are a fantastic addition to our guest experience.”
