COLUMBUS, OHIO, June 12, 2017 — Tom Rieland, General Manager of WOSU Public Media, has been elected Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA).
The National Educational Telecommunications Association supports public television stations across the country by providing high quality content, professional development resources, management support and national representation.
Said Rieland of the election: “It’s incredibly gratifying to be selected to serve as chair of NETA, one of public media’s most vital national organizations. The coming year promises to be an exciting and transformative time as we work to energize a new strategic framework that will make NETA an even more valuable service to public television stations.”
“Throughout our 50 years as a public broadcasting organization, we have been fortunate to have strong board leadership,” said NETA president Skip Hinton. “The staff and I look forward to working with these visionary leaders who represent our profession so well.”
Rieland has been General Manager of WOSU Public Media for 14 years. He additionally serves on the PBS Board of Directors and on the Board of the United Way of Central Ohio.
