The primetime TV science program, co-produced by WOSU Public Media and COSI, begins season two on Wednesday, November 2 at 7:30pm on WOSU TV  COLUMBUS, Ohio

November 1, 2022– WOSU Public Media and the Center of Science and Industry (COSI), the nation’s number one science museum as voted by USA Today’s 10Best, are proud to announce a new season of QED with Dr. B beginning Wednesday, November 2 at 7:30 pm on WOSU TV.

Following the success of its award-winning first season, the show returns with 13 new episodes all about discovering and appreciating science in everyday life. The first episode, Sports: Fans and Champions, will air on WOSU TV, and on-demand on WOSU Passport. This episode reveals the science of elite athleticism, advances in sports tech that we can all use and the surprising psychology of the sport fan.

QED with Dr.B features engaging interviews and conversations with diverse scientists, innovators, and STEM professionals, The program makes complex concepts accessible and easy to understand.

The show topics, offer relatable connection points for all audiences, drawing links between trailblazing science research and typical everyday interests such as sports, coffee, animals, personal health, art, energy and more. Furthermore, the show takes the public behind the science as exciting research destinations such as The Ohio State University, MIT, Harvard, Oak Ridge National Lab and even NASA’s astronaut training facilities.

QED with Dr. B brings cutting-edge science directly to our viewers, who will be blown away by the interesting subjects and dynamic experts we have assembled for this new season,“ said Dr. Frederic Bertley, aka “Dr. B”, president and CEO of COSI and host of QED with Dr. B. “It was especially exciting to go out on the road and talk with scientists and researchers in their actual labs in amazing locations all across the country. Now we are ready to share these interviews and destinations with our audience, and bring science and entertainment to people wherever they live, learn and lounge.”

This one-of-a-kind partnership between a public media PBS affiliate and a major science center makes this primetime broadcast show possible, providing unique locally-produced science content for WOSU audiences and expanding COSI’s footprint in the world of creative science communication media.
