I am pleased to announce that Laura Baker and Mary Alice Akins have been named interim co-leaders for WOSU Public Media, effective October 29, 2022.
These interim appointments come following the resignation of WOSU General Manager Ronnie Agnew who has decided to pursue what he describes as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join a major multi-billion-dollar media company as both a GM and senior leader. His last day with the organization is October 28.
Ronnie’s time with WOSU was key in helping the organization transition into its new headquarters located at 14th and Pearl, near University Square. I thank Ronnie for his service and wish him well.
I am confident that Laura and Mary Alice will lead the team through this transition while we search for a new general manager. Laura serves as WOSU’s chief development officer while Mary Alice is the director of business operations.
WOSU is a fixture in public broadcasting with a talented and capable team. Combined with a new, state-of-the-art headquarters, WOSU is well-positioned to attract an innovative leader to guide the organization in 2023 and beyond.
