COLUMBUS, OHIO, March 27, 2018 – Next week, 89.7 NPR News will launch a radio edition of a popular podcast – Monday, April 2 marks the start of The Daily which will air weeknights at 6:30 p.m.
The Daily delivers a deep examination of the day’s top news stories with host Michael Barbaro and the expertise of more than 1,450 journalists from The New York Times. The new half-hour program, airing five days a week, will analyze topics ranging from Harvey Weinstein and James Comey to the nation’s biggest headlines.
With 4.5 million unique listeners, the podcast that the radio show is inspired by was the most-downloaded new show in 2017 on Apple Podcasts and won the DuPont-Columbia University Award for audio excellence. Barbaro is a former Times political correspondent and previously hosted The Run-up, which covered the 2016 election.
