The Storytellers Trust
WOSU has a rich history serving as master storytellers for Central Ohio. For more than a century our team has sought out the people, places, and stories of our community to share widely.
As we look to the future, WOSU knows that one of the key tenants of our service to the community, to the University, and within the public media system will be how we use storytelling to amplify local voices for not only local impact, but also national awareness.
The use of storytelling is core to our local television productions, but also critical across all platforms including use in digital content, podcasting, and radio platforms - within community and outreach events - and across our educational programming.
Simply put, storytelling spans all that WOSU does to live out our mission of engaging, informing and inspiring our diverse community.
For storytelling to remain at the forefront of WOSU’s work, sustainable funding is necessary. We are proud to share the news that WOSU has established The Storytellers Trust to sustain and grow our storytelling abilities... ensuring that our storytellers can tell the important stories of our community.
The Storytellers Trust will empower WOSU to focus efforts on local stories and content in the continued service of masterful storytelling across our television, radio, digital and educational platforms.
Recently we asked WOSU master storytellers to share the impact they anticipate from The Storytellers Trust. Hear what they shared.
The establishment of The Storytellers Trust is only just the beginning - the seed for a larger goal. As The Storytellers Trust grows so will the opportunity for WOSU to tell further illuminating and informative community stories. And, we need YOUR help.
Watch for information in the weeks and months ahead about how you can be a part of this momentous initiative!
