FBI Seeks Help In Hunt For "Buckeye Bandit"

FBI
Authorities say the suspect has robbed 20 Central Ohio banks since 2013.

The FBI is asking for the public’s help in finding a man suspected of robbing 20 Columbus-area banks. Authorities have dubbed the man “The Buckeye Bandit” for his choice of OSU attire.

FBI special agent Tom Gill says the man usually threatens the teller.

“He is terrorizing the victim tellers at some of these banks. He walks in the bank, he points a gun at the victim teller, and demands money. He’s a very dangerous individual,” Gill says.

The Buckeye Bandit is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall with an athletic build. He’s a suspect in robberies in Columbus, Gahanna, Worthington, Upper Arlington, and on the Ohio State campus.

The FBI has set up a tip line at 614 – 849 – 1896.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of the Buckeye Bandit.
