The partnerships with the university are many.  While we have worked with many colleges through the years (Department of Physics, Department of Engineering, Department of Dance, and Department of Theatre to name just four), three outstanding partnerships are with University Relations, Technology Services (OIT), and the School of Music.

University Relations. WOSU partners with University Relations’ New Media Group on the development of wosu.org. New Media assists us in three primary ways: Web design, Web consultation, and Web technology consultation. In addition, WOSU reports to Curt Steiner, Vice President of University Relations.

Technology Services (OIT). OIT provides the technology services required by WOSU for web services. We stream both video and audio with the assistance of OIT. We provide podcasting with their help, and OIT staff serve as consultants to WOSU web staff when necessary.

OSU School of Music. Music has been a part of Ohio State history since the 1870s when the first music group, the Men's Glee Club, was formed. Not long after the turn of the twentieth century, university students could enroll in a variety of general music courses. In 1921 the Department of Music was created and by 1927 students could choose a music curriculum designed for music teacher preparation. Initially housed in the College of Education, the department became a School of Music in 1945 and continued to expand the scope of its degree programs. Today the school offers baccalaureate degrees in performance, music education, jazz studies, theory and composition, music history, and liberal arts.  Several School of Music performances are recorded for broadcast on WOSU 89.7.
