A central Ohio health district is investigating a probable cluster of mumps cases after two cases were reported in one school building, in addition to 25 more cases in the county.
Prohibition Brings Ken Burns to Columbus
PROHIBITION: AN EVENING WITH KEN BURNS will focus on his new documentary series and on civility, immigration and democracy the evening of September 22, 2011 at the Archie Griffin Ballroom in The Ohio Union.
Ohio was at the heart of the prohibition movement. The Anti-Saloon League in Westerville was instrumental in passing the 18th Amendment while at the same time, the German brewers in the central and southern portions of the city were becoming prosperous through the selling of beer.
Prohibition tells the tale of a collision of ideologies and cultures. We know what happened. What can we learn from its lessons to help us navigate the issues of today?
